ARV Arts Academy offers personalized Music Composition instruction for students interested in learning how music is created, developed, arranged, and prepared for performance.

Students learn through a dedicated and customized composition curriculum designed around their experience, musical interests, and individual creative goals. Whether a student is writing music for the first time or already has experience composing and arranging, instruction is adapted to help them continue developing their own musical voice.

Students are taught by Gavin Green, a composer and arranger whose music has been created for national championship programs and performed by ensembles and organizations across the United States.

Lesson Format

Composition lessons combine traditional manuscript writing with modern music notation software, helping students become comfortable creating music both on paper and digitally.

Students work directly on original compositions and arranging projects while learning the creative and technical processes involved in taking an idea from its earliest stages to a complete, polished score.

Lessons are individualized, allowing projects and instruction to develop alongside each student's interests and abilities.

No previous composition experience is required.
